Suleiman, 18, is the oldest son of our lead guide Saleh. In this picture, he has climbed
up in a narrow passage in an area known as Closed Canyon. He is deaf, but all in our group
agree that the sign language of the Bedouin is very easy to pick up, and "conversing" with
Suleiman is always a highlight of our treks. He is a delightful young man and I count him
among my very best friends.
