This is Hajji Mileyha, grandmother to many, if not all, of the children of Wadi Samri, a
small village we pass through on all of our travels. She is one of my favorite people and
reminds me very much of my mother-in-law! (She's always picking at me.) Hajji is the title
given to her because she has made the pilgrimage to Mecca. Her burqa is very ornate and
connotes her esteemed status.
