The Monastery of St. Katherine, a 1,600-year old fortress at the base of Mt. Sinai. Inside the chapel is believed to be the Burning Bush, through which God first appeared to Moses. The monastery is open to the public, but visitors need to be very sensitive to the daily tasks the Coptic Christian monks keep.
