Seated left to right are Musa, Mileyha and Zayed, then me. Musa maintains the diesel generator that provides power to the village of Wadi Samri, while Zayed and Mileyha are grandparents to virtually every kid in the settlement of perhaps 20 "houses". Musa and I once spent two days out in the desert cutting down a dead acacia tree that he and my friend Saleh would later come back and turn into charcoal for their homes' cooking needs. We laughed a lot, but only got to see one another for about 5 minutes on this trip. Nevertheless, the reunion was wonderful.
