Doug Baum – Texas Camel Corps – Today we trailored from Cuero to just out side Smiley, Texas. Here, we picked up new group member Frank Gonzales who is a historian and is working on a new book about the historic US Army Camel Corps. We unloaded the camels at Frank’s house and paraded in costume the roughly one mile through Smiley. The camels enjoyed meeting the folks in Smiley then we trailored ahead in Nixon. Tomorrow is our next to last rest day for the Drive. Monday we will be hitting it hard but are looking forward to meeting the nice folks in Nixon in the mean time.

Jim Hale – American Camel Company – Jim’s brother John has a band (www.johndhaleband.com) and is playing nearby so Jim is off for the night.

Ernest Giegenmiller – San Antonio, Texas – We’re past the half way mark we left camel tracks all the way from Calhoun County to Gonzales County.

Gil T. Hernandez – San Antonio, Texas – We were on top of the hump and we’re off the hump now.

Frank Gonzales – Historian and author - Smiley, Texas – Over the hump and beginning a new journey.

Terri Mathis – Venus, Texas – My husband takes me to all the good places.

Kyle Mathis – Venus, Texas – Free Floyd Collins.

Paisley Mathis – Venus, Texas – I ate catus!

John Caskey – Venus, Texas – It’s different.

Terri Jo Ryan – Waco, Texas – The company is delightful and I can’t wait to get on Gobi again.
