Doug Baum – Texas Camel Corps – Today we moved 6 miles from Port Lavaca to Placedo. We stayed at the Swoboda family ranch. Great people and it was great to meet their wonderful neighbors. Today was Carolyn and Tammy’s last day with us and they were really super hands on the trail. They will be missed. Having Ernest join us today is a real plus. After making camp this afternoon, Roger and Gil re-drove the route we’d traveled earlier looking for his camera’s memory card. Couldn’t believe they found it...but they did. And looking forward to Monday’s programs at O’Connor Elementary in Victoria. Hope to have pictures up soon.

Jim Hale – American Camel Company – “Look at that sunset!”

Gil T. Hernandez – San Antonio, TX - Walking through Texas makes me feel like a true Pioneer. In this day and age, people should take time and enjoy Texas.

Carolyn C. – Rockport, TX - As with all things, with great personality, Gobi would sometimes pose and sometimes totally refuse and turn his head.

Tammy T. – Bronte, TX - My feet are dead tired, but it was well worth it to spend time with such lovely people and such beautiful animals. The one thing I will remember, is how the horses reacted to the camels walking by their pasture.

Roger Berry – Ventura, CA – (www.camelphotos.com) - I wish I could have brought my camel with me, but he wouldn’t fit on the plane. I’m sure glad I found my 2 gig memory card – a half day’s worth of photos were lost and found.

Ernest Geigenmiller – San Antonio, TX – I’m always experimenting with something new and I’m enjoying the people stopping and being so nice.
